— COMMERCIAL VERMICOMPOST CONSULTING
I'm not here to convince anyone that vermicomposting is a good idea. I'm here to connect with people who already see the opportunity. If you have the resources to invest, the willingness to work, and the desire to build a profitable business producing premium vermicompost, we should talk.

—— ABOUT CRISTY
For over 16 years, I built, operated, and ultimately sold a successful commercial vermicompost business — Black Diamond VermiCompost. I designed production systems, secured feedstocks, developed the market, and produced a premium product that earned the trust of thousands of customers.
When I sold the business, (to the perfect couple!), I took the experience I had gained — the mistakes, the breakthroughs, the systems that worked — and turned it into the consulting practice I wish had existed when I was starting out. Now I work one-on-one with entrepreneurs who want to build commercial vermicompost businesses of their own.

A well-designed operation can be run by one or two people. Revenue streams can be simple or multiple, generating meaningful income with modest infrastructure and low overhead.
This decision is intentional. Science, experience, and product quality all support it. Feedstock, and its preparation, influences everything from consistency and labor to customer satisfaction and profitability.
Continuous flow-through systems produce a superior product that delivers exceptional results, commands premium pricing, generates loyal customers, and provides an outstanding return on investment.
Together, we make decisions based on long-term outcomes, not short term savings. Invest where it matters and build it to last.
Most people don't care about biology. They care about healthier plants, better yields, and fewer frustrations. Ask the right questions, solve real problems. Keep it simple.
Feedstock influences methodology. Methodology influences product quality. Product quality shapes pricing, marketing, and customer expectations. Community relationships strengthen demand.
No decision stands alone.

Eliminate unnecessary labor, complexity, and wasted motion. Design systems that make work easier.
Create repeatable processes that deliver dependable results every time—for your worms, your product, your customers.
Quality is reflected in every interaction your customer has with your business.
Build systems that can grow without becoming more complicated or requiring proportionally more labor.
Make decisions that strengthen the long-term financial health of the business.
Every project starts with a conversation. Tell me about your goals, your ideas, and where you are in the process. Whether you're exploring the opportunity, evaluating production methods, considering feedstocks, or trying to avoid costly mistakes, a Discovery Call is an opportunity to discuss your situation and determine the best next step.
If we decide the timing isn't right, that's okay too. We'll both walk away with greater clarity—and hopefully a new friend.

"Cristy has been an enormous resource ever since we met in 2018. I had just secured my warehouse lease and bought composting equipment when I heard Cristy present at the Vermicompost Conference at North Carolina State University. I was in awe of her accomplishments -- building an industrial vermicomposting operation with no background in agriculture or municipal waste stream management -- and was impressed by her onus on making the best possible product. Naturally I was desperate for her to become a mentor. "

"Cristy was very helpful when our worm beds overheated. We sincerely appreciate her for getting us out of this predicament. The knowledge she shared about feedstock, operations and marketing was invaluable and made a big difference in our bottom line!"
~ Dianne, CA
"We are thankful that we found Cristy when we did. With having a difficult time getting our Continous Flow Worm Beds functioning properly because of feedstock characteristics, compaction, cave-ins….. Cristy was the only person we could find that was able and willing to help after hours of research and contacting different people. Cristy truly knew the capabilities and incapabilities of a CFT system helping us to obtain our end goal of quality vermicompost production. She is a great person to communicate - associate regarding vermicompost, marketing, business." ~ Kenneth, Canada

“We have been working with Cristy for a couple of years now and she is wonderful. She comes to the conversation with understanding & listens to our questions without judgement. She has a way of explaining information that is easy to digest. She is a wealth of knowledge.
We would highly recommend working with Cristy."
