You're all set up at an event and people just walk by...they glance at your beautiful display that you're so proud of. They might offer a quick smile but they just keep walking. You ask yourself "why won't they stop and engage with me?"

Have you ever let plants or flowers do the talking?

Maybe you’re shy. Maybe it's not your personality or "style" to try to get people's attention. It might go something like this...the vendor stands just outside their booth, or leans over their table - making eye contact with every person who dares glance in their direction. Then it starts -- "Hey there! Do you have a second?" Or they hold out a free sample, nearly forcing engagement.

Here's another one: "Tired of your garden struggles?  I've got the solution?  A perceived problem, like they know what you're thinking.

How about this one - someone jumps into a "pitch" before the person even realizes what's happening.

We've all experienced at one time or another, right? It's a mix of carnival barker energy and sales desperation and to most of us, it's totally annoying.

Bottom line is all we really want to do is help. We know the power of our vermicompost and we just want to share this knowledge with everyone!

I spend plenty of time at farmer’s markets. I mean I have a booth at the same markets week after week after week. If you do too, then you know that there are dozens, if not hundreds, of the same people who show up week after week.

What do you say to those same people? If they never engage with you, it’s time to give them something so enticing that they want to stop!

A couple years ago, I bought 2 marigold plants and treated one with my vermicompost and another with another brand. Here’s what happened…

All I did was put them on my table with a sign – “NOT ALL VERMICOMPOST IS CREATED EQUAL”.

Boy, did they get some attention!
